SPF & Protection
Sun Protection Factor (SPF) is a measure of how well a sunscreen protects your skin from ultraviolet (UV) radiation, especially UVB rays that cause sunburn and contribute to skin damage. The higher the SPF number, the greater the level of protection it offers. For example, SPF 30 blocks about 97% of UVB rays, while SPF 50 blocks around 98%.
Protection from the sun is important because prolonged exposure to UV radiation can lead to sunburn, premature aging, and increase the risk of skin cancer. Using sunscreen with an appropriate SPF, along with wearing protective clothing and seeking shade, helps keep your skin healthy and safe.
